Having a deaf dog like me will require a little extra effort and patience, but I promise you I’m worth it. Unfortunately, I am currently heartworm positive. The good news is that I’m young and have no symptoms, so I’m expected to fully recover! And my shelter is paying for the rest of the treatments, so no worries about cost. I’m not sure how I feel about cats yet, but I do well with kids as long as they understand basic boundaries.
My role is to help calm incoming fearful dogs. I’ve got a silly and sweet side you’ll see when we get to know each other. All dogs are individuals, but my breed was created to hunt lions and be a family companion. Admirable qualities of courage, bravery, loyalty and affection—all rolled into one fabulous doggo like me—require an experienced dog parent for proper training and nurturing. Also on my wish list is a confident furry sibling to hang out with.

Looking for a boxer pitbull Dog to adopt in Edmonton, Alberta? Very sweet senior Boxer dog needing foster care in Alexandria VA and area. This 12 years young Boxer is about as nice a dog as you will find anywhere. He is good with people of all ages, including small children, others dogs, and cats.
All of our boxers are temperament tested and evaluated before coming into rescue. It should be noted that ALL dogs require a decompression period when going to a new home. Even the sweetest, most loveable boxer experiences fear and confusion during transitional times and foster/adoptive homes need to be conscious and respectful of this. She is in kennels and they adore her - she adores them - she is not demanding and just wants peace and quiet.

Hijo is an absolutely adorable Lab mix puppy looking for his forever home in or near Denton Texas.
They are hoping to find a new home for Rylee where this special dog will be cherished and kept safe, happy, and healthy for life. So be prepared to deal with puppy behavior until they are around 3-4 years old. They require a lot of exercise and stimulation. Multiple long walks a day will help tire them out, and we all know that a “tired boxer is a good boxer”.

It could be pain related, as he’s not been vetted in AT LEAST 2 years or it could have been the uncertainty of who she was as he was a bit fearful. OUR RESCUE WILL PAY TO HAVE HIM LOOKED AT BY A VET ONCE HE’S IN A HOME. He does have his rabies vaccine. We just need a soft place for him to land before we can arrange any vetting.
A rural setting outside the city with a secure, fenced-in backyard fit for romping is my dream. I might not mind a canine companion, but it’s best if my new home doesn’t have little critters or cats. Since I can get very excited, a home with older children would be best for me. Bonus points if you have a large fenced yard and another athletic dog like me at home. I’m a highly intelligent breed with a lot of pep and spunk, but I’m also a little shy.
However, some have no idea how big and strong they are and could accidentally knock over a small child or senior adult. Please consider ALL family members when looking to welcome a boxer into your home. Before adoption, our dogs are healthy to the best of our vets’ knowledge. They are brought up to date on vaccines, tested for heartworm, and spayed or neutered .
I wasn’t always treated like royalty, though. I’ve been eating healthy dog food, and let me tell ya, I don’t hate it! I’m getting stronger and healthier every day. I’m glad I’ve been able to help at the shelter, but I’m ready for a calm, quiet place with few visitors. I’ll also need a home with a securely fenced-in yard, as I’m still a little timid when going to new places. A furry sibling would be a bonus, but it’s not required.
We hope you feel that the right Boxer is worth waiting for. So we ask you to take a second look at the 60 to 70 dogs on AABR's available dog page. Maybe they are a bit older then you may think you want, or the wrong color, or have a bad picture that doesn't show their true beauty, but they are all beautiful. Consider what RESCUE really is, and please take a second look at the dogs outside of your original criteria. Adopt A Boxer Rescue is an all-volunteer 501 charitable organization formed to rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home unwanted and abandoned boxer dogs. We work within Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, northern Virginia, Washington DC and Rhode Island.
I’m totally fine, but after walking or playing, I might have a little limp. And while I adore people, older children would be best because I’m so playful. Any dog coming into HCBW is firstly matched against homes on our waiting list. If there is no match, we advertise here and on our facebook page. We do not require a fenced in yard for all of our boxers.
He was jumpy with our volunteer, and had that nervous energy going… like he wasn’t sure what to do or how to act. He did enjoy a rubber stick toy she brought and played tug a bit with her. She did feel that his excitement would likely turn into him humping had she continued. Please realize that the Boxer you may have your heart set on, may be adopted before you’re approved.
Are you curious about the world around you? I like to go on car rides and watch the world go by. I’m easy and breezy on the leash too, whether we’re walking along trails, admiring a pretty neighborhood from the sidewalk or hanging out with friends. I’m a German dog breed, so I thought I would impress you with my language skills. The term means “good day,” and almost every day is a good day when you’re with me. It’s true that I come off as a little shy at first.

You see, before I came to the foster home, I never went on walks and was kept in a crate most of the time. When it’s time to wind down, I savor snuggles. Aside from being irresistibly cute and as sweet as the day is long, I’m a smart cookie! Even though I’m blind and have diabetes, I learned quickly how to get around in my foster home, and you bet your bottom dollar this ol’ gal will navigate a new home too.
Dogs aren’t as appealing to me, but I’m working on being more open. I got to know the dog next door, and he’s pretty cool. I’m a well-behaved girl, so when my humans go to work, I get to stay in the den. They’ve come up with lots of fun things to keep me busy, and I do great on my own. Don’t you just want to rub my adorable scruffy face against yours?
